Queens hotel Enmore

The George Stubs classic representation in the bar upstairs was not supposed to be painted by me. I took full advantage of the hectic schedule of Des Sweeney from 8footwalls who was running this job and was originally contracted to paint it, and swooped in.

Designed by Amanda Talbot from Studio Snoop for the Merivale group, the brief was to create a very relaxed subdued feeling of comfort and decadence.

The dark mossy green textured finish with water stains from an imagined leak in the ceiling (gloss glaze applied in strategic areas) works well to achieve a cool atmospheric feel.
